Sunshine Windows

A Touch of Class, for Your Glass

Welcome to Sunshine Windows

Proudly serving Adelaide its Eastern Suburbs and Adelaide Hills, Est 2014.

Hey there. I'm Emilio, and I've been in the working force since I was 15. I have done a multitude of occupations through IT to Construction and being a Firefighter at Bowraville Station 235. My mum and stepdad were both professional window cleaners.

I started Sunshine Windows in 2014 under the mentorship of family friend Chris Murphy from "Window Works Window Cleaning," where I learnt the ins and outs of commercial, residential and construction window cleaning. With over two decades of hands-on experience, I've worked on a wide range of properties and have since returned to Adelaide to provide high-quality service to my local community.

As a sole trader, I personally handle every job. For your complete peace of mind, I hold commercial public liability insurance up to $20m. And if you are pet-friendly, please let me know, as my head of sales, Olly the dog, would love to join me on the job!

My Story

I first started going out cleaning windows at age 15, helping Mum (and earning pocket money). As we are both rock climbers, abseil window cleaning was a common trade for us. My Mum worked for SA Window Cleaning Est 1985 (a year older than me). My stepdad, a self-employed Window Cleaner (Acacia Window Cleaning Service), had the contract to clean the ground floor windows for SA Windows. He's known in the industry as Inspector Gadget, in regard to his development of pure water equipment and techniques with 0° squeegees and electric pump sprayers.

I continued on my own path, working in hospitality and construction, and studying IT while working for Hewlett-Packard. In 2012, I started my own small computer repair service and also began working for Chris Murphy at "Window Works Window Cleaning," which is where I really learned the trade. Initially working for Chris on the side, window cleaning soon became my full-time focus. I moved from casual employment to subcontracting as a sole trader, establishing Sunshine Windows under Chris's mentorship in 2014. (Chris is now retired, but WWWC lives on through his son – thank you, Chris!).

During the last 10+ years, I have serviced SA and the humid, tropical climate of the Mid North Coast NSW. I've learnt a lot about properties and the effects of the environment. I've actively developed my services around the maintenance and care of infrastructure through regular cleaning, maintaining functional seals and coatings, and working with design features that incorporate environmental effects (like having chamfered tops and lockable security screens on hinges). Through repeat work over a long period, I've had the opportunity to gain insights into different design features and product materials.

I moved to NSW in 2017, at the time running SW and maintaining a contract with Beasley Pool Heating as an installer (a trade I've done since age 17, originally working through Freedom Pools). During my time in rural NSW, I served as a retained firefighter at Bowra station 235, holding a Cert II in medical first response and a Cert III in firefighting.

While in NSW, I worked on the family farm and then moved into a small town. I started to build a digital presence for SW, though I mostly worked through word of mouth and local trades. I also gained experience in many aspects of the building industry, adding to my earlier construction background. This included skills in roofing, painting, Gyprock/plastering, hanging doors, concreting, rendering, fencing (including retainers), and more. I even contracted with the local council in Nambucca, providing graffiti removal and exterior cleaning services. I eventually missed commercial window cleaning and started a shopfront run in Bellingen, which quickly grew and included shopfront and sign cleaning (and access to more food).

I have since returned to Adelaide and am once again operating as a sole trader under the name Sunshine Windows. My best friend, Oliver—or Olly, as he's known—is our head of sales (mascot). He's been with me on 99% of my jobs since 2023 and is currently getting used to being at home more often. If you are pet-friendly, please let me know, as he is calm and well-behaved.

Having studied IT, I've always built my own websites and I'm hoping to get this one up to scratch for you all soon. As a sole trader, I have commercial public liability insurance up to $20m to cover you and your property (including residential). I can provide quotes up to $5k or charge by the hour.
